Boulder’s research and development component is further augmented by the existence of three federal laboratories in Boulder, each performing work associated with aerospace. These include the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
