Fab@Home 3D Production Platform: The platform consists of a 3-axis gantry positioning system driven by linear stepper motors. This platform enables a production volume of 8" x 8" x 6". The platform is constructed primarily of laser-cut acrylic and uses precision-machined rods for precise control of printer head positioning. It accomodates a modular printer head assembly. In addition it comes with software to control the 3D production platform which is available in open source form and as compiled binaries. Presently, the software requires Microsoft Windows to operate.
