Reiki 3 is probably the ultimate goal for most reiki healers. Most of the students would like to become a master. In most schools, level 1 and 2 could be taken in two days course, but there is a waiting period for level 3. This is because most masters would like to make sure that his or her students have enough basic skills taught in the first 2 levels.

Reiki 3 or sometimes called reiki master level is divided into 2 categories. These categories are personal master and master teacher. A personal master could only give attunement to level 1 students, while a master teacher could do it for level 1 to 3. This is the main difference between these two categories.
