The first Broadway revival of "West Side Story" in nearly three decades opened Thursday at the Palace Theater.

The revival was directed by Arthur Laurents, who wrote the book for the original production in 1957. Leonard Bernstein composed the music, Stephen Sondheim wrote the lyrics and Jerome Robbins directed and choreographed the original.
