Caterham Superlight R500 is a beautiful car that costs around £37,000. The car is built on the Series 3 chassis. Into this has gone a revised version of the 2.0 liter Duratec engine which has 263 bhp and revs to 8,500 rpm.
Cosmetically, the car gains the aero-wishbones and nose of the CSR, and the rear lights and indicators are freshened with the addition of clear lenses.
As standard the car comes with an H-pattern 6 speeder, but a 6-cog Quaife sequential box is an option, as is launch control. With both the latter fitted, the car can spin its 13-inch anthracites to 60 in under 3 seconds.
