Police in the German city of Cologne say they have prevented a plot by two teenagers to attack their school. The main suspect committed suicide on Friday by throwing himself under a tram after he had been called to the principal's office and sent home from school. The other suspect, an 18-year-old, was arrested by police in Cologne and confessed. Officers say they had evidence the pair had planned to storm the Georg Buechner Gymnasium school with weapons, possibly including Molotov cocktails or pipe bombs. Classmates alerted teachers after seeing the suspects studying pictures of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting in the US state of Colorado, in which two pupils killed 12 and then themselves.
