A man who scooped £1.3m on the National Lottery nearly two years ago has gone back to work at McDonald's - because he missed his workmates

Luke Pittard

Luke Pittard, 25, of Pengam Green, earns £5.85 an hour at the fast food restaurant in Pontprennau, Cardiff

He and then fiancée Emma Cox, 29, were both working at the branch when they hit the jackpot

The couple hung up their uniforms and settled down with daughter Chloe, three, when their winning numbers came up

They bought a £230,000 home and paid for an expensive wedding and a holiday in the Canaries

But 21 months later, the novelty of being a Lotto millionaire has worn off and Mr Pittard has got his old job back as a staff trainer

But his wife has backed her husband's decision to carry on working.

"I totally understand it," said Mrs Pittard. "We both really enjoyed working at McDonald's

The Pittards earn more in interest on their winnings each week than he brings home in pay.
