Is he dead or isn't he?
Websites and social networking services this morning buzzed with claims that American actor Jeff Goldblum has died.
The claims, which are a hoax, followed reports of the deaths of pop superstar Michael Jackson and former Charlie's Angels actress Farrah Fawcett.
The two confirmed celebrity deaths triggered internet speculation that Goldblum, who starred in Jurassic Park and appears on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, had passed away after an on-set accident.
There are even reports on some sites that movie star Harrison Ford has died.
"It has not yet been confirmed but New Zealand police are reporting that Jeff Goldblum has fallen to his death on the set of his new movie," said a report on website ScreenCrave.
It is understood the claim originated on a spoof news website which carried a message declaring the stories on the site as fake.
"Officials say the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on set."
